Sending Flowers to Italy

Wed, 02 Jun 2010 05:00:00 GMT

By Pat: My parents are Italian and their anniversary was coming up. I wanted to send flowers. I began a search of flowers from Italy on the internet. It showed that the white lily was the national flower. (It actually read one of three) Who has three national flowers for their individual country? ? ? Then began a search I wish I'd never gone on. Once I found 'white lily, I found a million variations. At this point I was seriously thinking about sending them a gift card to a restaurant and be done with the whole stinkin' thing. So, after I tossed that idea, I enlarged the picture of the white lily, copied it onto glossy cardstock, bought a beautiful frame and when the picture in it, it was stunning. Here's my question : does Italy even have a national flower, and if so, what is it? I so appreciate any and all help you can give me.

Answer By The Flower Expert: It is said that Stylized Lily is the national flower for Italy. We do not have any picture of the flower. Though you can try the most traditional flowers used for gifting in Italy are Orange -Tree Flower, White Lily, Violet, White Yellow And Pink Roses.

Gladiolus

Wed, 02 Jun 2010 05:00:00 GMT

By R. Schlenker: You had a great deal of information on the growing of gladiolus, except where to plant them.Full sun, partial shade or shade? I have all areas around the yard.

Answer By The Flower Expert: Plant the gladiolus in the place in your garden where the sun remains for part or most of the day. That means they need full sunlight.
